Welcome One And All To Spectacular Death's Website.

Spectacular Death (A-Llane-US) is the total WOW experience with lots of fun at a casual pace. We see and go to all places in the WOW universe from Classic to current content, PvP and Arena. This is no-pressure raiding at its finest with friendly, helpful people interested in working through all WOW has to offer. We will never have a realm first in any endgame, but we will have the most fun when we arrive. Our "race" to see everything is more of a saunter with an emphasis on fun. Our guild motto is "Here. Hold my drink and watch this," so you can see where our emphasis lies.

This guild is not for everyone, however. You must review the Code of Conduct before asking to join. It is also recommended that you read our Raiding and Loot Guidelines.

For any questions about the above information, please talk to Gimmlette or any officer. Officers are listed under the "SD Guide" section of the web site menu. If you are interested in hopping on the bus for the ride, please fill out our application. It's under the "Join Us" button at the upper right. You will be contacted by Gimmlette or the membership officer after the application is received.

DE Madness

Xoni, Vervaine, Peudemage, Branni, Masrezinc, TheBeast and Pinkel showed up in Ironforge for a mass disenchanting session on Tuesday. When we started our disenchanting, the tally was 19,028. When I logged out for the night, our total was 19,898. Thank you to everyone who donated goods and thanks to those who sent the fruits of their skill ups. Epicurian's mailbox was jam packed.

Here is most of the fruits of our labors. These materials are stored off site. I will be going through our bank and adding to what we have. If you need any enchanting mats, speak up. We don't have a lot of the Cata materials but what we have is available for guild members to get their armor and weapons enchanted. Anyone, for that matter, should get new gear enchanted, even with low level enchants. We have a number of people who would love to skill up by helping you.

Tab 6 has been restored.

Feel free to put weapons and armor in the empty slots.

Thank you to those who donated and those who DE'd. We took a healthy step toward that 25,000 disenchants achievement.

It's coming!

Full announcement from Blizzard about the Patch, 4.3, called "The Hour of Twilight".

Bashiok
We will be performing extended maintenance tomorrow, November 29, for the release of the 4.3: Hour of Twilight patch. The realms will be unavailable from 3:00 a.m. PST until approximately 11:00 a.m. PST.

If your launcher states "World of Warcraft is up to date. Downloading data for the next update." please allow the Background Downloader to continue downloading the 4.3 data. You can ensure it continues even when not playing the game by going to the launcher Options, Downloader Preferences, and checking the box labeled "Download after exiting World of Warcraft". If your launcher only states "World of Warcraft is up to date" then you've already obtained the 4.3 pre-download data and will only need a small update before logging in.

For more information on 4.3: Hour of Twilight please visit: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/3964559/

Lohnar,

Isn't that the most awesome photo yet? I am so thrilled that so many of you chose to run out and get yourself a flamingo just for this event.

Here we are, heading toward Orgrimmar. Lohnar met us outside.

Up went the guild standards and then, being the great sport that he is, he allowed himself to be attacked by nothing but flamingos.

It was probably one of the silliest events we've done. Some horde jumped us and killed all of us but a few came out just to get pecked to death. Those Plainstriders can do a lot of damage when they gang up on someone.

Lohnar reported the usual taunts and rude comments, but he said the biggest theme was they just don't know what to make of a guild that goes out of its way to have fun. Once we killed and dueled as many people as we wanted to, we streaked into Orgrimmar. Snoriebane beat Tarsan by a "paw".

Thanks to Slugslinger, Tarsan, Duellona, Fortu, Reckittmama, Skaedi, Snoriebane, Wheatthins, George, Ayreon, Bazinga, Wyldhermit, Milz and Drinkel for coming along for the fun. You have to admit, we cut a stunning look, walking up to Orgrimmar in our green tabards with our pink birds. You do not have to hang onto your bird anymore, so if you were eying a rare, have fun getting it.

Lohnarr I saw that and thought it was great, a wolf named Flamingo. It was fun goofing around out there. Always up for more fun.
Wodehermit x That wolf in the upper left corner was named Flamingo... I think that should count as a technicality....

Upcoming Events

Gimmlette a posted Nov 28, 11
With the end of November fast approaching, it's time to look ahead to December. Upcoming events:

Guild Member of the Month nominations are due by Wednesday evening, November 30th. For our new members, information on the program can be found here. I need to know who and why in an in-game letter. The only person not eligible next month is Brawndo. Yes, officers can be nominated.

Monday, November 28th. All hunters and their flamingos should be in the Stormwind harbor for a guild photo by 9:15 p.m. server time. After that, please wait while I get to the next location and summon you. All guild members are invited to participate but hunters will lead the way. You won't want to miss this.

Tuesday, November 29th. All our enchanters are invited to be in Ironforge in front of the bank by 8:30 p.m. server time. As of 10:30 p.m. on Sunday night, our disenchanting total stands at 18,844 items. If you have things to disenchant, please send them to Epicurian or bring them to Ironforge on Tuesday evening. We'll do a mass de to raise that total towards the 25,000 for the achievement. If the patch drops on Tuesday, this will be a good way to take your mind off the inevitable, "OMG, where did all my buttons go?"

Wednesday, November 30th. Our weekly OS3 run. We will see how many are on and then vote on whether we'll split into 2 for 10-man or stay as one for 25-man.

Friday thru Sunday, December 2-4.
See this guy to the right? We need to down him in heroic mode for the guild achievement. I hope to reactivate our lock-out and all we will do is work on Arthas that weekend. I need 2 tanks and 3 healers. I need someone who can remove necrotic plague, usually a decurser. We have raid info in the forum. Read up on the fight. I am sure more than 10 people each night will want to go so please be understanding if I can't take you. I know a lot of people have not seen ICC. We will do this again.

If we successfully down Arthas before Sunday, we will work on Halion in Ruby Sanctum. If we can get both of those down, that leaves only Yogg-Saron in Ulduar for the Wrath guild raid meta achievement.

Thursday, December 15th is Spectacular Death's 4th anniversary. We're going to start a four-day event with a trip to K3 in Northrend. We're going to work on this achievement for about 30 minutes.

What could be more appropriate to our guild anniversary than running through a mine field? What could possibly top that? Why jumping off the floating islands surrounding Dalaran and trying to land, ALIVE, in the river below, that's what? Fun starts at 8:30 p.m. server time. I don't care what level your toon is, come have some fun.

Friday, December 16th is "Friday Night Kites". First off, at 8:30 p.m., we're going to kite BOTH Fel Reavers into Thrallmar. First, we have to find them. Then, we have to kite them. If you are level 85 and wanting to kite, you'll have to figure out how to do that WITHOUT killing them. Thrallmar is the horde town in Hellfire Peninsula. If you have a level appropriate toon that has been stepped on by the Fel Reavers, bring it along. You'll get some XP from the kill.

Once the Fel Reavers are left to their fate in Hellfire, we are heading to Vashj'ir. A number of you have been asking if we can kill a whale shark. SD has done it twice so we are 'pros' at this. You MUST be able to breathe underwater, so if you have not done the introductory quests in Vashj'ir that grant you underwater breathing, you'll need to figure something out. Level 80 and up is welcome. The whale shark MUST be ranged tanked. Anjinxy was interested in trying his hand, but if you have a level 85 ranged toon that would like to try, let me know. We can trade off tanks. You need to be on Mumble for this, if possible.

Finally, depending upon how late it gets and how many are up for another kiting challenge, we are going to kite Thrym to Warsong Hold in Borean Tundra. SD did this 2 years ago. It took us an hour to get him through Dragonblight, through Borean and into Warsong, where the guards took care of him. If you want in on this, plan for a late night. Again, if you are level 85, you can, fairly easily, kill him, so practice NOT killing anything level 80.

Saturday, December 17th. King of the Hill. Off the eastern coast of the Cape of Stranglethorn is Jaquero Isle. In the center of the island are two hills with flat tops accessible only by flying mount. We are going to challenge the horde to best 2 out of 3 king of the hill matches.

First of all, I need two people willing to be referees. You will not flag PvP for this so, if you don't like PvP but would like to do something with this guild, this is a great opportunity for you. All participants will land on the hill tops. On the count of 3, they will commence killing one another. Once someone has died, they cannot reenter the battle. Referees need to watch for deaths and call out if someone comes back into battle who was dead. The thing is, you can't reach the hill top even if you rez close to your body, unless you fly there. Lohnar and I spent 10 minutes testing this. We will battle for 10 minutes or until one side clears the other side off, whichever is the shorter time. We'll do this 3 times.

When that is done, horde will go to the southern end of the island. Alliance will go to the northern end of the island. On the count of 3 we will try to rid the island of the other faction. Sounds simple enough EXCEPT there is a twist. On the island is a mini-boss, King Mukla. Referees will be watching this giant ape. No one can kill King Mukla or you are out of the event. You will be called out and told to go stand by the refs. He's a level 35. All we 85s have to do is sneeze on him and he'll die. He's in the NE corner of the island. You may run through his patrol area but you are not allowed to camp in it. When you die, you are allowed to run back and come back into combat. At the end of 30 minutes, we will see which side has the most people alive and that side will have won the encounter. This information has been posted to the WOW Llane forum in the hopes we get more horde than just Vashkiri, Lohnar and Obey, although those three might just kill us all.

Sunday, December 18th. Plans are still in formation so you'll need to check back here for information.

Four years in WOW time is a long time. I can think of a handful of guilds that didn't last past their first couple of months, let alone their 4th year. We have a lot to be proud of here in Spectacular Death. The December schedule should be posted by the end of the week. If there is something you want to run, please let me know. If we don't have room this month, it will certainly go into January.

Thanks for being a part of the best casual raiding guild in WOW.
